Yamaha C80 Classical Guitar

Why I bought a classical guitar?

As a long-time acoustic guitar player, I have always struggled with the problem of rusty metal strings.

Not only does it cause the sound to lose its brightness, but it can also pose a health hazard by accidentally cutting your fingertips.

Additionally, frequent string replacements can take a toll on your budget.

These issues led me to consider purchasing a classical guitar with its nylon strings and quality build, which I eventually did.

Why Yamaha?
Choosing Yamaha was an easy decision for me. Yamaha is a household name in the Philippines with a proven track record of quality, and I wanted to invest in a high-quality guitar that would last a long time and be a memorable purchase for years to come.
The Pros and Cons!
Starting with the pros:
  • The sound quality is very good!
  • The nylon strings do not rust
  • Sliding won’t cut your fingertips
  • Less squeak too when doing a slide
  • Wider neck is a better fits larger fingers
  • Classic color and design is timeless
Now there are still cons
  • For smaller hands, the neck can be too wide – (Good thing it fits my hands perfectly)
  • Purely acoustic. But I don’t really need to plug it in an amp
  • Glossy? I don’t have much negative things too say.
Wear and tear after a couple of years

I purchased my Yamaha C80 classical guitar in 2020 and have kept it in its hard case when not in use.

After constant use, the fretboard and strings is the only part that shows noticeable wear, which could be due to my acidic fingers.

However, with regular cleaning, I could have prevented this issue.

Nonetheless, the guitar still sounds good as new, and the body looks pristine.I have only had to replace the D on the third string, so my set of replacement strings is still waiting for the next change.

Do I recommend this?
I highly recommend the Yamaha C80 classical guitar, both for experienced players and beginners.

The wider neck can help stretch your fingers and improve your playing.
